Alexandra Scheirer, Senior Associate, has over nine years of experience in energy, wholesale and policy-related issues. She has expertise in RTO stakeholder processes and is well-versed in emerging energy issues.
Alex provides support on a wide range of energy issues in relation to wholesale power markets, regional transmission organization (RTO) processes, and policy-related issues. She largely focuses her time on the PJM Interconnection stakeholder and policy processes.
Prior to joining Gabel Associates, Scheirer held roles at PJM Interconnection including Sr. Policy Advisor and Sr. Client Manager. As a policy advisor, Scheirer focused on state government policy, working with a team of professionals who endeavored to harmonize emerging state electricity policies with wholesale market design and transmission system planning policies. Scheirer’s focus was on the reliable and cost-effective integration of the change fuel mix into PJM’s markets, including the capacity market and gas-electric market harmonization, and, more generally the evolution of resource adequacy and reserve products. As a client manager, she assisted PJM member companies with long-term projects that required change and coordination for wholesale market participation, such as generation transfers and new generation markets integration as well as assisted with customer inquiries on market participation, settlements, and more. Prior to PJM, Scheirer was a communications professional in the sports and entertainment industry.
Scheirer holds an M.A. in communications from Temple University and a B.A. from Chestnut Hill College. She also holds graduate certificates in the Fundamentals of Leadership and Leading in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Penn State Great Valley.
