Travis Stewart, Vice President of Gabel Associates' Wholesale Power & Markets Services Group, advises clients on a variety of wholesale market matters including energy and capacity market design and rule development. He is also engaged in various RTO committees that help shape wholesale power markets.
He assists clients in monitoring the evolving business practices of various regional transmission organizations and understanding their economic and business implications.
Mr. Stewart actively monitors issues at PJM (the largest grid operator in the country) and MISO. Specifically, he participates in various committees and working groups that focus on a range of issues including energy and capacity markets, demand response, and reliability. These groups are integral to the development and refinement of RTO rules, policies, and processes as well as the resolution of difficult market and technical issues. Through his active participation, Mr. Stewart provides frequent reports to clients on various issues. He is also well-versed on PJM’s Capacity Performance model and its impact on generation resources.
Prior to joining Gabel Associates, Mr. Stewart worked within the Office of Chief Counsel for the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. In this role, he provided guidance to senior legal staff and the New Jersey Governor’s Office on a number of matters impacting energy markets in New Jersey.
